A new year comes, as does the desire to change our lives. Whether earning more money, taking care of our mental and physical health, changing jobs, improving relationships, anyway, you go all out.
To help you boost your self-development process, I decided to bring you a short list of books you must read in 2022.
1. "YOU ARE A BADASS: HOW TO STOP DOUBTING YOUR GREATNESS AND START LIVING AN AWESOME LIFE” BY JEN SINCERO
First of all, reading this book is like talking to your best friend/therapist and that person you want to become. It’s an intimist lecture and priceless knowledge.
The author, Jen Sincero has been helping people to change their lives for many years. She’s a successful woman, a career, success and life coach with a big business, and a New York Times bestselling author of multiple titles. But she hasn’t always been a success, and her learnings from a life of struggle and indecision helped her to find her way and lead others as well.
The book is broken up into author’s real-life experiences, using analogies, we can feel comfy and challenged to change our life by her inspiration, and references for the lessons that she has learnt over the years.
Jen starts the book out by saying our subconscious tend to run the show based off of beliefs we develop as kids. We are often driven by our subconscious, and we don’t even know it — meaning we do and think a lot of things that can be bringing us down and guiding us down the wrong path unintentionally. And another important take home: “We need to be surrounded by people who radiate self-love and abundance, so we don’t program future generations with gnarly beliefs like ‘money is bad’ or ‘I’m not good enough’ or ‘I can’t live the way I want to live.”
She goes on to say that we’re all part of a connected Universe, and we’re all just energy, moving along in the Universe. And as we’re all just vibrating along, we need to know that like attracts like. So you should raise your vibration to tap into the vibration that you desire. Pretty cool thought. Sincero also encourages us to be present and connected to the Source Energy of the Universe. We spend so much time worrying about little stuff, that we often miss the greatness of life’s moments.
Moving on, Sincero encourages us to be decisive, instead of spending so much time in indecision. The most common trait among successful people is that they make decisions quickly, because indecision is torture. But you don’t have to always be right, because failure is okay.
My favorite quote from the book is “Wanting to change your life can be done sitting on the couch with a bong in your hand and a travel magazine in your lap. Deciding to change your life means doing whatever it takes and going after your dreams with the tenacity of a dateless cheerleader a week before prom night.” It’s a great message, urging everyone to take that leap and move as far as possible from their comfort zone. So to anyone reading this, start that YouTube channel, podcast, or blog. Take that online course, and go after your masters. Run directly at fear.

2. "ATOMIC HABITS" BY JAMES CLEAR
If you are like me, an disorganized person, or are just looking for a more productive life through creating good habits, this book was made for you!
“Atomic Habits” written by James Clear is has a simple language with plenty of references and examples of sports arena, which will make you able to relate with the techniques mentioned in the book.
The science of habit arrangement is explained through a four- stage process that includes cue, pining, response and reward. This structure can be used to understand our own patterns, and either grow out of them or support them. “ Habits don't restrict freedom. They create it,” says Clear. This would be consoling for readers who suppose that people who are conscious and like to follow routines don't have interesting lives with space for adventure.
One of the crucial lessons to take away from this book is how adopting a new habit isn't only about changing comportment but also about changing identity. Supposedly, research shows that people who concentrate only on what they want to do otherwise tend to be less successful with habit formation than people who concentrate on who they want to be. Another priceless suggestion is the practice of habit stacking, wherein you “tie your desired behavior into something you already do each day.” The author also suggests using habit trackers and responsibility partners to help you.

03. "THINK AND GROW RICH" BY NAPOLEON HILL
I think everyone who wants to develop all areas in life should read "Think and Grow Rich" By Napoleon Hill, at least once in their lives. Even it was published in the last century, the book has invaluable principles and lessons still applicable now, in 2022.
Personally, I've always had a dream about a perferct life, but I come from a poor family, so it was never easy. I spent my whole life just waiting for something to happen, a miracle maybe. Until last year (tough year by the way) when I realized that my life would only change if I did something for myself, starting with my mindset, and that's where this book comes in.
Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill is structured in 13 chapters ( also called “ steps to riches”) that talk about things like the power of thought, desire, faith, self-suggestion, knowledge, planning, organization, and endurance, all of which must be understood in order to gain what's desired. He cultivated his moneymaking secrets after interviewing 500 of the most rich men and women of his time.
The entire book infuses in me that first imagine the life you want to attain and see yourself in its possession, then have faith that nothing is impossible and you can do it, then plan how you can turn it into reality, work on that plan persistently until your desire become your burning obsession and never give up unless it has been fully carried out and you can see the physical appearance of it. This book describes very well that you can have a better fortune if you continuously give your sub-conscious mind the instructions mixed with absolute faith that you can do it and if you feed your sub-conscious mind with constructive thoughts then it will translate these thoughts into reality. This is the secret of using your thoughts and believing them, having faith. Recommended for those who are into law of attraction (manifesting) as well.
